Miejskie Przedsiębiorstwo Wodociągów i Kanalizacji S.A. in Wrocław – the existence of Wrocław’s waterworks dates back to 1871, when the Na Grobli plant was launched, but the history of the city’s water supply dates back to the Middle Ages. It has been operating under its current name MPWiK since 1952. On 12 July 2011, MPWiK Sp. z o. o. was transformed into a joint-stock company of the Wrocław Municipality. The activities of MPWIK Wrocław are aimed at meeting the expectations of main stakeholders while ensuring the lasting and sustainable development of the company and the city of Wrocław. The primary task of MPWiK is to ensure the continuity of high-quality water supplies and the reliability of the sewage collection service.
Expectations
Due to the adopted strategy of sustainable development and social responsibility, the Miejskie Przedsiębiorstwo Wodociągów i Kanalizacji S.A. in Wrocław was looking for a risk management tool. The choice fell on PBSG and erisk. We have met all the requirements for such a system, including: adaptation to the specificity of the organisation, flexibility and possibility of further expansion. Expert support at every stage of work was also crucial – our consultants were constantly available and involved in the project.
Solution
The project included the implementation of a risk management tool. Due to the fact that it was a new thing in the organisation, it was crucial to properly prepare the client and its employees to use erisk. For this reason, PBSG consultants were constantly available, provided substantive and technical support, shared knowledge and practical tips. They took care of the comprehensive preparation of erisk in such a way that, on the one hand, it met the customer’s expectations and, on the other hand, its operation was intuitive and easy. Thanks to this, MPWiK in Wrocław gained valuable technological support, which computerised the risk area and facilitated the daily work of its employees.
We researched the needs
The first step was to analyse the needs and solutions used so far. This allowed us, together with the client, to develop an appropriate approach to risk management.
We configured the tool
The cloud service was chosen as the form of access to the erisk tool. We configured them appropriately, which included the creation of forms and upload of the necessary data.
We trained employees
We prepared employees to work in the system. During the training, they learned how erisk can help them in their daily work and acquired skills related to its use.
We provided support
PBSG consultants were always available. They carried out a number of works related to the configuration of the tool and prepared the client to use it.
